I could never imagine that Snoop Dogg would be the person to help me mash together two of my favorite things in one, yet here we are. I love chocolate chip cookies and make them nearly once a week for my family. And when we’re out of cookies, a spoonful of peanut butter sprinkled with chocolate chips is a quick treat for me.

I’ve had lots of peanut butter cookies with chocolate added (like peanut butter blossoms or monster cookies) but I had never considered adding peanut butter to my chocolate chip cookies. That was until I read Snoop Dogg’s Rolls Royce PB-Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe in his cookbook From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen

How To Make Snoop Dogg’s “Rolls Royce” PB-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Snoop Dogg’s “Rolls Royce” cookies are seemingly straightforward chocolate chip cookies. You’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 cups (210g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 sticks (220g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (130g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (360g) semisweet chocolate morsels

The recipe starts by creaming the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Then beat in the egg and vanilla.

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and stir until combined. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips.

The dough is so soft and luscious that I was somewhat shocked that there was no chilling step before baking. Instead, the cookies get scooped onto parchment-lined baking sheets and baked right away in a 375°F oven.

The cookies bake quickly without spreading too much, in fact they keep a mounded, crinkled texture despite the amount of fat (butter and peanut butter) in the dough.

Snoop Dogg’s Rolls Royce PB-Chocolate Chip Cookies Will Blow Your Mind

Snoop’s cookies look almost identical to a classic chocolate chip cookie—golden brown with bits of chocolate peaking through—but biting into them reveals a wonderful texture and flavor. The outer edge of the cookies is so crisp and tender it pretty much melts in your mouth, while the interior is creamy and smooth.

The peanut butter flavor isn’t overwhelming, though the cookies are peanutty in flavor and the bits of chocolate keep the cookie from being overly sweet. These cookies stay soft for days in a covered cake stand on our counter, unlike my regular chocolate chip cookies that get a bit stale after just a day.

If you take one thing from Snoop’s cookie recipe let it be this: you can add a small portion of peanut butter to almost any cookie recipe and get a cookie that is tender crisp and super soft.

I’ll absolutely be making these cookies again, since my whole family really enjoyed them. And you could easily riff on the recipe by swapping in chopped chocolate or peanut butter cups or adding peanut chips alongside semi-sweet. I’m still a bit flabbergasted that it took a recipe from Snoop, someone whose music I grew up with, but whose recipe I hadn’t yet tried, to inspire me to combine two of my favorite treats in one.
